Frost Protection

Frost conditions in winter or early spring can cause severe damage to crops and is a major concern for growers. The extent of the damage caused by frost depends on the type of plant and tissue exposed to the low temperatures. Frost damage is especially harmful during the main growth and blooming period. A number of frost protection methods have been developed over the years. The use of sprinklers during the frost period, combined with intensive watering of the crops, is an effective way to avoid frost damage.
